AIC
πŸ” The Great Joke Vault Escapehow an evening runs, door by door

How an evening runs

A virtual escape room played inside your own video call (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams…). AIC β€” AI-assisted Comedy β€” hosts with his voice on the page the organizer shares in the call; every participant plays from a private console on their phone or computer. Every door opens for a laugh. A plain room is 7 doors in 45 minutes; with the brain teasers on, 11 doors in 65 minutes.

Two pages, two roles

πŸ“Ί The shared page β€” the stage

The organizer shares it in the call, with sound

AIC speaks there: the rules, the story, each door, the hints, the countdown. It shows the door strip, the challenge card, the wall of shame, the vote tallies. The organizer's controls live in βš™οΈ Settings and the HUD (⏭ Skip room Β· ⏹ End Experience). The organizer plays too β€” from their own private console, opened in its own window from the πŸ” button.

πŸ“± The private console β€” one per participant

The page you joined from, on your phone or computer

Nobody logs in twice: the room link (or CODE.myjokes.ai) plus your e-mail is your seat. Your half of the clues, your answers, your microphone and camera live there. AIC does not speak on consoles β€” his words are written, and the πŸ” under his face asks the stage to repeat.

πŸ€– Or: AIC joins the call himself (beta)

The stage as a participant β€” nothing to share

Game options β†’ πŸ“Ί The stage in the call β†’ πŸ€– AIC joins the call. The organizer presses πŸ“ž Call AIC on the entrance page: a participant named AIC Β· myjokes.ai knocks within a minute (Zoom or Google Meet), the organizer admits him and spotlights his tile. His camera is the stage, his microphone is his voice and the music β€” so sound sharing is never a problem. The organizer's own tab becomes a silent monitor, and everything is driven from their private console.

πŸŽ› The organizer's private console

The stage's controls, from any device

The organizer's console carries an Organizer controls panel: the doors as small icons (the current one lit, opened ones ticked), every button the stage is showing (⏭ Skip, unlock, seal the votes, reveal, stand-up order β€” pressed on the stage within ~3 s), βš™οΈ Settings, the hint button, Close my console and End the room for all. In bot mode this is the only place they exist.

Before the doors

  1. Book a room β€” the organizer picks the number of seats, who pays (the organizer for everyone, or a seat each), the level (easy / hard), team or individual scoring, brain teasers on or off. A room code and a short link are issued; the organizer receives them by e-mail.
  2. The lobby, five steps with AIC's tour β€” sound & picture check (and a snapped face for a surprise later), the video-call link, invitations (we e-mail the code, the link and the four steps of the evening; or paste the link in the call chat), selfies for the goofy-face wall (e-mail a selfie to CODE@myjokes.ai), the game options.
  3. Participants join β€” link or code, an e-mail, a nickname (a stage name is suggested). Doors close when the organizer presses Start; latecomers can be let in while a seat is free.
  4. The entrance β€” the organizer gets the call going (or admits AIC into it), opens their private console and presses πŸšͺ Enter the room. Nothing is said to the room until that press: the set-up is between the organizer and their console, so the call is not talked at while people are still arriving.
  5. AIC explains the stage β€” the first thing the room hears once the door is open: what the shared page is, and how to get a private console open β€” the QR code and the short address bring in whoever is missing.
  6. The rules and the story β€” AIC walks the doors in order (the tiles appear as he names them), explains the private page and the hints, then the story of the Laughing Stock comedy club. The countdown starts.

Team or individual Β· easy or hard Β· brain teasers β€” what changes?

πŸ‘₯ TeamπŸ™‹ Individual
ScoreOne laugh score for the whole room; the podium and the wall of fame list the team (or company) name.Everyone escapes together, but AIC keeps a score per person: padlocks, doors, brain teasers and the goofiest face earn points, hints cost some; the leaderboard is on the stage.
Brain teasersOne sudoku and one quiz, filled together β€” every keystroke is shared across the consoles.Everyone solves their own grid and quiz; the first to finish opens the lock, every finisher scores.
HintsAny participant can ask; by default the organizer is notified and confirms (or set hints to automatic / off). Who asked, and whether it was granted, is shown to the room.
Stand-up finalSitting the stage out costs the team nothing.Sitting the stage out counts 0 for that set; the other points stay.

Doors Β· time7 doors, 45 minutes: coat check, punchline duel, caption this, goofy face, guess who, stand-up, the key.11 doors, 65 minutes: the anagram lock, the writers' room (sudoku + quiz), the mirror and the echo room are added.

The doors

The numbers below are the brain-teaser room's, 1–11. A plain room plays doors 1 Β· 2 Β· 4 Β· 5 Β· 8 Β· 10 and the key, in the same order, renumbered 1–7; the teasers add 3, 6, 7 and 9. (⏱ β‰ˆ suggested minutes; points go to the team laugh score, or to each player in individual mode.)

πŸ§₯

1 Β· Coat check β€” three padlocks

⏱ 830 pts3 hints

Three riddles, each answer a padlock. The clue halves are split across the consoles: read yours out loud to each other, then type the words. Warm/cold feedback in easy mode.

Console: your half of each clue next to the padlock, three inputs. Stage: the padlocks opening, AIC celebrating each one.

πŸ›‹οΈ

2 Β· Green room β€” beat the AI's punchline

⏱ 6up to 100 β†’ ptsvote +10

AIC reads tonight's set-up on the stage; everyone writes the punchline on their console (three tries each) and the AIC judges score it against the AI's own line. The judges' bar drops as the clock runs; the team's best line opens the door. Then the room votes for the crowd favourite (numbered lines, one vote each, never your own).

Console: the punchline box (opens once AIC has read the set-up), scores, the team list, the vote. Stage: the set-up, the tally, πŸ—³ Punchlines & vote.

πŸ”€

3 Β· Anagram lock brain teasers

⏱ 520 pts

Five comedy words, letters shuffled, on every console; what one of you types appears on all screens. All five open the door. Hard mode: long words, no letter count.

πŸ–Ό

4 Β· Caption this β€” beat the AI's caption

⏱ 6up to 100 β†’ ptsvote +10

A picture with no caption is on the stage. Everyone writes the one line that makes it funnier (three tries); the judges score against the AI's caption, the best one opens the door, then the room votes.

😝

5 Β· The goofy face β€” the wall of shame

⏱ 6no points β€” the crown names the winnerπŸ€– AIC votes too

Pull your goofiest face: snap it on your console (the button wakes up when a face is in the picture), or e-mail a selfie to the room's address. Everyone votes on the wall (not for themselves); the organizer seals the votes from the stage; the result stays sealed until later in the night. Consent is explicit; declining is a button.

🧩

6 Β· Writers' room brain teasers

⏱ 925 + quiz pts

A mini-sudoku and a five-question comics & movies quiz. Team mode: everyone fills the SAME grid and quiz, every keystroke shared. Individual mode: everyone solves their own, the first finisher opens the lock, every finisher scores. Hard mode: fewer givens (always one solution).

πŸͺž

7 Β· The mirror β€” who is behind the funhouse glass? brain teasers

⏱ 520 pts + 7 a face

Three comics you know, drawn as caricatures and warped out of shape, side by side on the stage. Name them. Any of you can take any of the three, in any order, so split them between you β€” in individual mode everyone works their own three and every finisher scores. Easy mode gives you the country and the first letter; hard gives you the face and nothing else. No camera, nothing to photograph β€” that is the goofy-face door.

Console: the three faces and a box under each. Stage: the same three, ticking off with the name of whoever got it.

πŸ•΅οΈ

8 Β· Guess who β€” the time machine

⏱ 5+10 per right guessneeds 2 faces

Each face from the wall is re-rendered 35 years older or 25 years younger. One at a time on the stage: on your console, pick the name you think it is. Auto-reveal when everyone has answered, or the organizer's πŸ‘ Reveal. Fewer than two faces on the wall β†’ the door skips itself.

πŸ”Š

9 Β· Echo room brain teasers

⏱ 525 pts · 10 per line

AIC says three lines with the words back to front. The stage sequences them and the consoles' Play buttons blink in step (or play a line on your own device, headphones recommended); type what he said. All three open the door.

🎀

10 Β· The stage β€” stand-up

⏱ 8up to 20 pts a set

AIC draws the order and a theme for each performer; 45 seconds each, one joke β€” your own, or a classic AIC hands you (a hint). Record or type it, send it; at the end everyone rates every set (1–5 stars, never your own), the AI judge scores the transcript, and AIC can watch the call for smiles and laughter (opt-in, nothing recorded). Anyone may sit the stage out; easy mode allows three other themes.

The key β€” escape

after the ranking

The last door opens by itself after the stand-up ranking; the results page follows.

What AIC does all evening

Hints5 per room (3 in hard mode). A participant presses πŸ’‘, the organizer is notified and confirms on the stage (default) β€” or hints are allowed straight away, or off. One hint per door; hard mode never gives the answer.
NudgesNothing moved for a while? AIC nudges with a line for the door. Past the door's suggested time, the organizer's ⏭ Skip room blinks and AIC says so.
The clock45 or 65 minutes on the stage, five-minute and one-minute warnings, the room closes at 0:00. The organizer may add +5 minutes when whitelisted.
The call dies?βš™οΈ Settings β†’ πŸ“‘ New video-call link: every console shows the new link at once, and an e-mail goes to everyone on file.
InterludesBetween doors a short clip and AIC's line: the congratulation, the story beat, the next door.
Late participantsA switch on the entrance: doors close at Start, or accept latecomers while a seat is free.

The end of the night

Results pageDoors concluded, the laugh score (or each player's tally with a leaderboard), the wall of shame with the final votes (closed at the seal; the crown scores nothing), the stand-up ranking, the podium of the last 30 days for rooms of the same level and door set.
⭐ How was it?Every participant rates the night (1–5 stars) and may leave a message on the results page; the average shows on the page, the messages reach the myjokes.ai team.
πŸ€– AIC voted tooWhen the votes are sealed, AIC looks at the wall and casts one vote with a one-liner β€” read at the reveal and shown on the results under the prize.
GoodiesThe winning face is drawn as a caricature on a tee, a cap and a tote right on the results page; the shop (a one-week pass for whoever paid) prints and ships a mug, a tee, a cap, a Hawaiian shirt and more β€” Make it yours accepts the room's faces or any photo.
MailsEvery participant receives a thank-you mail with the results link (CODE.myjokes.ai), the shop pass and a tell-a-friend code (20% for them, 20% for you).
